Advertisement for British Telecom commissioned by Abbott Mead Vickers. It's great to be involved in a major campaign like this, but as usual the clients wanted everything the day before yesterday, so I ended up working all night , something I hadn't had to do for years. It was nice to know I still had what it takes but I don't plan to do it again soon. I painted all the elements for the ads individually and the client combined them digitally. If you're a fan of Coronation Street (a British soap opera) you can still see this ad displayed in "The Kabin" (if Norris isn't in the way). Fame at last!

Hardcover and paperback cover for a novel by Meg Hutchinson, published by Hodder & Stoughton. This was my first cover for a Meg Hutchinson book and I made a strong effort to make things as dramatic as possible. I find some covers for this sort of book can be a bit wishy-washy so I was anxious to avoid that pitfall. Ther's nothing wishy-washy about the story.

This was an advertising poster commissioned by Harari Page for the floating museum HMS Belfast, which is at anchor between London Bridge and Tower Bridge on the Thames. She was the last Heavy Cruiser to be built for the Royal Navy. Belfast's curator was extremely helpful although a guided tour of the ship reminded me why sailors tend to be small in stature. I worked from photos, technical drawings and a scale model. I wasn't allowed to borrow any of the models displayed on board alas. They might have found a permanent home in my studio! HMS Belfast's finest hour as she engages the Scharnhorst in the North Atlantic.
