One of two artworks originally commissioned for a Pierrot Publishing book to illustrate one of ten well-known fantasy landscapes. The text was supplied by Robert Holdstock and Malcolm Edwards.

Since then it was been used on a French paperback cover and two US covers for The Time Machine by H.G. Wells in 1992 and 2002.
